Making an accurate model from such a small nondescript sprite required a bit of imagination on my part. I decided that the green bit functioned as a light source, which gave me an excuse to mess around with lights in 3DS Max, as well as an opportunity to realize that I do not know how to use lights very well in 2012.
I'm not sure if I'll bother UV Mapping it yet, but if I get time I would like to try giving it more detailed textures.
